Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical/aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or closely related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience with aircraft stability and control and/or handling qualities engineering
  • Fluent with MS Word and Excel, and basic programming capability with Matlab-Simulink
  • Apply effective speaking, listening, and writing skills to communicate technical ideas and brief management
  • Work effectively within and across teams to accomplish technical objectives
  • Prioritize and multitask to complete a variety of technical assignments
  • Familiarity with rotor aeromechanics and rotorcraft S&C along with FLIGHTLAB or similar 6 dof dynamic simulation
  • Familiar with CONDUIT flight control design and CIFER systems identification software packages
  • Familiar with MIL-DTL-32742 (ADS-33E) specification
Responsibilities
  • Analyze aircraft aerodynamic stability and control (S&C) and related failures
  • Perform 6 degree-of-freedom simulations to predict flight characteristics and handling qualities
  • Devise, prepare, conduct, and report certification maneuver and handling qualities task element piloted simulations and analyses
  • Analyze the flight dynamics of eVTOL, including linear and non-linear flight control systems and control law functions, through subjective evaluation and objective simulations
  • Work with rotor aeromechanics, acoustics, flight simulation, flight controls, loads and dynamics, test pilot, test & evaluation, and systems engineering groups to accomplish technical objectives
  • Support flight test planning and data analysis
  • Apply Supernal guidance and values leading to professional and technical excellence where all of us are better than one of us
  • Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
  • Up to 25% of domestic and international travel
  • Other duties as assigned
