- One or more years of clinical experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
- Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California, license must be active and in good standing, or eligible to transfer or become licensed in California within 3 months of hire.
- A degree from an American Veterinary Medical Association-accredited Veterinary Technology program is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
- Passion for working with animals and their owners.
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint.
- Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories.
- Perform basic exam procedures.
- Skilled in venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular).
- Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning.
- Perform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting, preferred.
- Comfortable with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique), preferred.
- Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); IDEXX.
- Excellent client communication/education.
- Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members.
- Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories.
- Perform basic examination procedures and physical examinations of patients.
- Perform venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, jugular).
- Perform digital radiography (X-ray) including patient positioning.
- Assist during dental procedures including digital radiographs, scaling, polishing, and charting (preferred).
- Assist with anesthesia and surgical procedures, including induction, intubation, monitoring, and maintaining aseptic technique (preferred).
- Perform or assist with laboratory analyses and cytology (e.g., microscope, IDEXX).
- Provide excellent client communication and education.
- Collaborate effectively with veterinarians and team members.
- Degree from an American Veterinary Medical Association-accredited Veterinary Technology program is preferred but not required.
- Perform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting, preferred.
