As our Director of Solution Engineering, you will lead a team of skilled sales engineers while actively engaging in client-facing activities as a "player-coach." This role combines leadership with hands-on responsibilities, giving you the chance to both guide your team and showcase the value of our ERP solutions within the Government Contracting (GovCon) sector. You’ll work closely with Sales, Product, and cross-functional teams to ensure technical alignment with client needs, driving impactful sales outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Act as both a leader and participant in solutions engineering process, balancing team oversight with active client engagement
- Mentor and develop your team, fostering a collaborative culture focused on technical excellence and customer-centricity
- Track and report on key performance indicators, such as evaluating loss reasons, demo numbers, and follow-up demo requirements, to determine the effectiveness of the sales engineering team
- Lead the design and execution of client-specific demonstrations, aligning them with GovCon compliance standards and industry needs
- Develop and customize demo environments, including database setup and data scenarios, to showcase relevant product functionalities
- Create and maintain the library of demonstration scripts, databases, tools, and technical collateral
Your First 90 Days
By Day 30
- Complete new hire orientation and be fully set up on your technology and our internal tools (e.g., Confluence, Slack, Salesforce, Zoom)
- Meet and get to know the various teams you will collaborate with across our organization
- Review sales playbooks and product trainings
- Familiarize yourself with our sales resources
- Develop a thorough understanding of the industries we serve
- Access SFDC and learn how the partner/direct sales teams leverage it
- Begin developing a working knowledge of our sales processes
- Manage development and production of content in our sales enablement tool, Consensus
- Meet sales leaders to understand their needs and concerns as it relates to sales enablement
By Day 60
- Deepen your knowledge of our product offerings
- Continue to learn our product positioning and how to best support our sales efforts
- Partner with our Product, Marketing, and Sales Ops teams to assist in maintaining enablement materials
- Continue to manage the development and production of Consensus content
By Day 90
- Take ownership of Confluence spaces and related documentation for our various product lines
- Drive the management of onboarding and continuous learning sales training programs for all groups
Who You Are
- 7+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, software consulting, or software sales
- Experience with government agencies, accounting, and/or compliance
- Ability to solve complex problems and handle a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists
- Record of proactively improving and promoting quality in processes
- Bachelor’s Degree

- Knowledge in competitive products (e.g., Deltek, Jamis, NetSuite, QuickBooks)

The salary range for this opportunity is $180,000 - $200,000 per year. You will be eligible for employee equity and discretionary bonus compensation, subject to plans that may be in effect from time to time.
