Requirements
  • HS diploma/GED
  • Ability to obtain Arkansas High Pressure Boiler License within 9 months of hire
  • 1 year of relevant experience in HVAC Systems Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Maintenance, Power Plant Operation, Plumbing and Piping Systems, Stationary Engineer Role, Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance, or boiler operation
  • Valid Arkansas driver's license with fewer than 12 points on their Motor Vehicle Record
  • Computer program proficiency level: Intermediate
  • Knowledge of central plant systems
  • Watchkeeping and rounding documentation
Responsibilities
  • Operation, maintenance and repair of the Campus (DES) District Energy System that serves the medical, educational, and research facilities on the UAMS Campus; these systems are vital to the safety, comfort, and general wellbeing of patients, students and employees
  • Assisting with all problems and/or emergencies relating to facility issues on the UAMS Campus
Desired Qualifications
  • Boiler Operator Certification
  • 6-10 years of boiler operations experience, experience operating a District Energy Plant
  • Arkansas High Pressure Boiler License
  • Siemen’s Desigo, chiller operations
