  • State- or municipality-mandated security officer licenses are required.
  • A minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • A security guard license is required, or the candidate must be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
  • Reliable communication and transportation are required.
  • The candidate must be able to write routine correspondence, including log entries and incident reports.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while assisting customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.
  • Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
  • Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic, customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
  • Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
  • Answer all phones professionally.
  • Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
  • Learn and enforce facility or building policies and procedures within the limits of the position.
  • Perform required patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
  • Observe departing personnel to prevent theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with customer requirements.
  • Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
  • Monitor alarms and security systems.
  • Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities as directed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience is helpful.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a neat, professional appearance are desired.
