We are seeking a Bioinformatician to help us execute on our partner and pre-partnered programs.

How you might spend your days:

Our research creates a huge amount of data. We need someone like you to help bridge the gap between complex biological data and life-changing insights. On any given day you might:

• Analyze sequencing data generated as part of our antibody discovery programs
• Develop and extend bioinformatics pipelines for analyzing single-cell and bulk immunoglobulin repertoire sequencing data
• Help integrate our pipelines with other components of AbCellera’s tech stack
• Work with scientists on our discovery teams to explore datasets of therapeutic candidates
• Collaborate with wet-lab scientists, data scientists, and bioinformaticians to design experiments, analyze data, and interpret results in order to improve and develop new technologies for antibody discovery and engineering

Required qualifications and experience:

• PhD or MSc in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field, or a BSc with at least three years of relevant work experience 
• Demonstrated expertise in Python and building code in a collaborative environment
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
• Experience working with high-throughput sequencing data
• Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets
• A demonstrated ability to find creative and functional solutions to complicated problems
• The ability to express complex ideas in understandable ways, and to communicate effectively with people from different fields
• Excellent documentation skills with impeccable attention to detail

Bonus qualifications, but not required:

• A good foundation in statistical analysis
• An understanding of the basics and limitations of experimental protocols
• A background in immunobiology
