Requirements
  • A track record of leading realtime graphics engineers and shipping production renderers, engine subsystems, or GPU-heavy products as a lead or manager.
  • Hands-on experience with radiance fields, Gaussian splatting, or neural rendering.
  • Technical depth sufficient to make sound rendering judgments and participate in design discussions.
  • Strong C++, shading-language, and rendering-pipeline knowledge, with architectural judgment to maintain one renderer across multiple platforms and graphics APIs.
  • Experience coaching engineers at different levels, providing direct feedback, and building the structure needed for individual success.
  • Strong written and asynchronous communication skills for operating a team across nine time zones.
  • Ability to work autonomously from a mission rather than a ticket queue.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a globally distributed team of senior rendering engineers across realtime rendering, GPU and shader work, streaming graphics, and radiance-field research integration.
  • Drive daily delivery efforts by balancing competing priorities, resolving bottlenecks, and maintaining engineering velocity and output quality.
  • Own and evolve the renderer's technical strategy across graphics APIs and platforms, including fidelity and performance trade-offs for photorealistic radiance fields.
  • Shape engineering practices and culture through design review, code health, and project management appropriate for a small expert team.
  • Partner with Scene Reconstruction and R&D teams to turn research advances into product image-quality and performance gains.
  • Collaborate with Product and Integrations teams to turn rendering capabilities into customer-facing features.
  • Ensure a strong developer experience through robust application programming interfaces, software development kits, samples, and documentation.
  • Steward a codebase spanning C++, shading languages, TypeScript/WebAssembly, Swift, and C#/Unity across web, mobile, desktop, and headset targets.

Miris provides a Content Delivery Network (CDN) designed to stream interactive spatial content for the spatial computing market. It licenses its technology and charges based on the volume of content streamed, with an SDK that lets developers deliver interactive experiences in standard formats. Miris differentiates itself by focusing on spatial streaming rather than general video delivery, backed by patented tech and an experienced leadership team to support education, medicine, communication, and entertainment with smaller devices. The goal is to grow the spatial computing ecosystem by making high-quality, interactive spatial streaming accessible to creators and developers.

What believers are saying

  • March 24, 2026 beta and July 2026 glTF support widened addressable 3D asset pipelines.
  • FiftyOne integration on July 15, 2026 exposes Miris to physical-AI workflows immediately.
  • Hiring across engineering and SRE in 2026 signals active product expansion and reliability investment.

What critics are saying

  • Miris remains early-stage, with one $26 million seed round and no disclosed repeat revenue.
  • Playbook, Voxel51, and FiftyOne are narrow early proofs, not broad enterprise adoption.
  • Unity, Unreal, Nvidia, and cloud GPU vendors can compress Miris into a feature.

What makes Miris unique

  • Miris streams OpenUSD and glTF spatial assets, not rendered pixels, reducing GPU dependence.
  • March 24, 2026 public beta delivers sub-second 3D loading through a self-serve WebSDK.
  • Miris targets CDN economics for interactive 3D, with browser, mobile, and AR/VR delivery.

Miris unlocks high-fidelity 3D asset streaming at scale.

Miris unlocks high-fidelity 3D asset streaming at scale. 17/03/2026 3D streaming infrastructure provider Miris today announced the launch of a public beta for its new 3D asset streaming platform. Miris is building the infrastructure to deliver 3D at internet scale. As a managed service, 3D content owners can upload a 3D asset to Miris, enabling them to stream that asset to any device, instantly and at high-fidelity, at costs comparable to video. This unlocks a wide range of use cases from retail product configurators, architectural visualization, digital twins, and interactive retail, among other use cases. Instead of sending rendered pixels, which requires GPU infrastructure on a per-user basis, or entire asset files, which requires user downloads and asset compression, Miris uses adaptive spatial streaming to achieve sub-second load times and horizontal scaling. The platform preconditions 3D assets for on-demand delivery and only transmits necessary geometric and texture data in real time, making it simple and cost-effective for organizations to enhance their applications' user experience with high-fidelity 3D assets. Until now, companies had to choose between visual quality and cost at scale. We eliminated that choice, said Sean Looper, CTO, Miris. Miris is a fundamentally different approach that eliminates tradeoffs for developers. We're excited to open the public beta and kickstart the future of 3D asset delivery. Miris features at public beta launch include: Sub-second load times for complex 3D assets Even a 500MB product model loads and responds as quickly as a simple 5MB scene. High visual fidelity without massive client downloads Only necessary geometric and texture data are transmitted, enabling real-time delivery. Internet-scale without per-user GPU costs Since edge GPUs are not needed for every concurrent user, the architecture scales without additional infrastructure costs, supporting lower total cost of ownership compared to pixel streaming. Developers with beta access can use Miris with sample assets or their own content. Detailed documentation provides guidance on the integration process, and the entire flow is self-serve. 05/01/2027.
