Requirements
  • Admission to practice law and good standing in Texas.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with individuals or groups using a common language.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties.
  • Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and other litigation documents for active litigation files.
  • Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action.
  • Advocate for clients’ interests in various litigation settings.
  • Use internal proprietary software to update and document the status of each account in the assigned inventory.
  • Analyze and process litigation inventory reports and litigation files as assigned by the Managing Attorney to ensure proper litigation workflow in accordance with firm and client expectations.
  • Comply with all client and firm standard operating procedures.
  • Travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required.
  • Prepare for and represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including developing case strategy, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and presenting oral arguments.
  • Negotiate settlements with consumers and their legal representatives to resolve disputes while protecting client interests.
  • Evaluate case merits, assess risk exposure, and provide strategic legal recommendations.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and court procedures.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of litigation or trial experience.
  • Working knowledge of civil procedure.
  • Debt collection experience.
  • Prior experience in a high-volume environment.
