Requirements
  • Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or 2-4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of pumps, agitators, rotating equipment, mechanical seals, and/or a very strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions and percentages
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
Responsibilities
  • Providing outstanding service to our customers and support to the outside sales staff
  • Answering telephone calls or responding to customer correspondence regarding technical and commercial questions on products or systems
  • Develop pump proposals and become a product expert on assigned product lines
  • Specialize in parts for our equipment. Assist customers with identifying parts they require and provide quotations
  • Focus on other products in the larger SunSource catalog and help drive business growth on these products
  • Enter orders in our order handling system after review of customer order to confirm consistency with our proposal
  • Develop working relationships with our suppliers' factory personnel
  • Develop relationships with our customers so that they think of our Company first for their rotating equipment needs
  • Conferring and corresponding with service technicians, service managers or manufacturers to resolve unusual or complex technical problems, or refer highly complex problems to an Application specialist or Manager
  • Supplying detailed product quotations by computing price, discount, and shipping charges as required and within company guidelines
  • Informing customer of pricing, back orders, delivery, delayed shipments and/or any other problems related to the order process
  • Attending sales meetings or educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest technical developments with our products
  • Participating in Inside sales quote followup activities and outbound calling
