Required Skills
Customer Service
  • Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school
  • 2-4 years of related experience and/or training
  • Working knowledge of pumps, agitators, rotating equipment, mechanical seals, and/or a very strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions and percentages
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Providing outstanding service to customers and support to outside sales staff
  • Answering telephone calls or responding to customer correspondence regarding technical and commercial questions on products or systems
  • Developing pump proposals and becoming a product expert on assigned product lines
  • Specializing in parts for equipment, assisting customers with identifying parts they require, and providing quotations
  • Focusing on other products in the larger SunSource catalog and helping drive business growth on these products
  • Entering orders in the order handling system after reviewing customer orders to confirm consistency with proposals
  • Developing working relationships with suppliers' factory personnel
  • Developing relationships with customers so they think of the Company first for their rotating equipment needs
  • Conferring and corresponding with service technicians, service managers, or manufacturers to resolve unusual or complex technical problems, or referring highly complex problems to an Application specialist or Manager
  • Supplying detailed product quotations by computing price, discount, and shipping charges as required and within company guidelines
  • Informing customers of pricing, back orders, delivery, delayed shipments, and any other problems related to the order process
  • Attending sales meetings or educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest technical developments with products
  • Participating in Inside sales quote follow-up activities and outbound calling
