Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent with associated experience is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in construction estimating at the general contractor or trade partner level is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office is required.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, quantity take-off, and construction knowledge is required.
- The ability to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude is required.
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external team members are required.
Responsibilities
- Review bid documents to understand the project and develop meaningful preconstruction requests for information.
- Prepare bid deliverables, including detailed quantity take-offs, thorough scope sheets, clarifications and exclusions, and variance reports for assigned trades of work.
- Use in-depth knowledge of assigned trades to walk trade partners through scope and ensure accurate proposals.
- Contact trade partners, suppliers, and vendors by phone and other necessary means to obtain proposals.
- Build and maintain relationships with trade partners, suppliers, and vendors.
- Provide a positive and consistent customer experience for internal and external team members throughout the estimating process.
- Submit complete and on-time bids without exceptions.
- Complete site visits as necessary.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Destini software is a plus.
- Related construction experience is preferred.
