Who we are looking for:
Re:Car dba SLATE is looking for an energetic, organized, and experienced Principal Interior Safety Engineer to join our growing team. This leadership role will be responsible for ensuring compliance to NHTSA/FMVSS and other due care safety aspects of the Interior Cabin.

 What you get to do:

• Be an integral part of an energetic team that’s challenging the status quo of vehicle design.
• Creation of System and Component requirements and management of the validations to meet those requirements.
• Responsible for leading the Interior Engineers in the design and development aspects of their components and systems relative to regulation and due care requirements.
• Develop and implement functional objectives to meet project performance targets.
• Manage all aspects of interior component and system development to meet project requirements including performance, cost, mass, timing, manufacturability, etc.
• Lead collaboration between internal/external teams and suppliers to meet all project requirements.

 What you bring to the team: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent.
• 10+ years of restraints and interior systems experience.
• Strong knowledge of design considerations required for interiors systems and components and the integration of safety components.
• Broad knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements related to interior systems and components.
• Proven communication and team building skills.
• Ability and Desire work in a fun and fast paced environment
