Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years of laundry experience, preferably within a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team-leadership experience in a hotel laundry operation.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial laundry operations, linen handling, fabric care, and laundry chemicals.
  • Good understanding of hygiene, health and safety, and quality-control procedures.
  • Experience with industrial laundry equipment and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hotel environment.
  • Good leadership, coaching, and team-management skills.
  • Professional appearance and a strong commitment to guest service and luxury standards.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Laundry Manager in the overall management and daily operation of the hotel laundry department.
  • Supervise and coordinate laundry team members, ensuring efficient workflow and high productivity.
  • Monitor the washing, drying, pressing, folding, sorting, and distribution of hotel linen, uniforms, guest laundry, and food and beverage linen.
  • Ensure all laundry is processed according to approved procedures, fabric-care instructions, and quality standards.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation throughout the laundry area.
  • Conduct regular inspections of processed linen and uniforms to ensure they meet the hotel's quality and presentation standards.
  • Monitor linen and uniform inventory levels and assist with regular stocktaking.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Rooms Division, Food and Beverage, and other departments regarding linen and uniform requirements.
  • Ensure guest laundry and special laundry requests are handled accurately, promptly, and with appropriate care.
  • Monitor the condition and performance of laundry equipment and report technical issues promptly.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate with Engineering when required.
  • Control the proper use of laundry chemicals, detergents, and other supplies while minimizing waste and operational costs.
  • Ensure proper handling of damaged, stained, or lost linen and uniforms.
  • Assist in preparing duty rosters, allocating daily tasks, and monitoring attendance and performance.
  • Train, coach, and develop laundry employees on operating procedures, safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health and safety regulations, fire safety procedures, and environmental standards.
  • Monitor departmental expenses and support cost-control initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare operational reports as required.
  • Assist the Laundry Manager with audits, inspections, quality checks, and departmental projects.
  • Step in and take responsibility for the department in the absence of the Laundry Manager.
