ROLE OVERVIEW
The Enablement team at Benchling owns the learning and change management for the entire GTM value chain: Sales Development Representatives, Account Executives, Solution Consultants, Customer Experience roles, Partners, and Customers. It serves as a trusted advisor to field and marketing leadership - bringing forth ways to scale knowledge and processes, manage change, and be a pivotal part of the culture in the company.
The Head of Sales Enablement is responsible to help Benchling scale to new heights focused on roles at the forefront of the GTM value chain (SDR, AE, and SSC/TSCs). This leader will manage a small but mighty team of Sales Enablement professionals and requires someone with tenacity to push initiatives through end to end - from ideation to adoption to the desired business outcome. They will drive learning programs and change management from onboarding to incumbent, from what we sell, how we sell, and operational excellence (including technology and processes).
This position is based in San Francisco, CA. We will only consider candidates for this role, who are based in the Bay Area or are open to relocating to San Francisco to work a hybrid schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive proactive solutions to keen problem/opportunity observations, take a broader lens on the business and connect dots in the business and enablement content for team and stakeholders.
- Serve as champions and stewards of company and leadership direction - bridging the gap between strategy and execution, by helping their teams translate vision to execution and drive towards set forth direction and targets.
- Proactively listen for opportunities and problems to solve in the business e.g. pipeline, deal execution, demo readiness, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10-15 years work experience in Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, and/or Sales Programs in a B2B Enterprise SaaS company
- Previous management experience in a fast moving environment leading in a player & coach capacity
- Speaker/presenter at conferences showcasing innovative, sales enablement best practices
- Strong stakeholder management skills including working in a matrixed environment with multiple sales, marketing, product, and solution consulting leaders
- Deliver a strong point of view that triangulates multiple perspectives into a cohesive plan that serves the best interest of our SDR, AE, and SC teams
- High attention to detail, strong program management skills (including creating workback plans from end goal to current state)
- Ensure the team truly drives strategic thought partnership and execution with cross functional teams
- Understanding of the biotech &/or pharmaceutical industry + a degree in Biochemistry or Biology are a strong plus
SALARY RANGE
Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. For this role the base salary range is $192,000.00 - $288,000.00.
