Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year of supervisory or management experience is required.
  • An Associate or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required.
  • Proficiency with PTI software, including DriveCam, Trimble, and Crew, is required.
  • A valid state driver's license issued by the state of proposed employment is required.
  • At least 5 years of verifiable driving experience is required.
  • The candidate must live within 30 minutes of the branch location.
  • The candidate must be able to read, write, and converse in English.
  • The candidate must be able to use a GPS or technology system and read and understand roadmaps.
  • The candidate must maintain a cell phone and keep PTI updated with the current phone number.
  • The candidate must be able to lift and pull up to 15 pounds.
  • The candidate must be able to climb in and out of the vehicle.
  • The candidate must be able to bend to inspect the undercarriage of a vehicle and tires.
  • The candidate must be able to manually open and close all vehicle doors and hatches.
  • The candidate must be able to sit for extended periods while driving, as required.

Responsibilities
  • Manage field operations tasks and assignments as required.
  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations and performance of the assigned region and locations.
  • Promote and practice safety awareness using the Positive Safety Culture safety model.
  • Educate and instruct employees on completing required paperwork and meeting related deadlines.
  • Coach drivers on events recorded through DriveCam technology.
  • Ensure regional and branch safety performance through adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide information and pictures of PTI accidents to the Safety and Risk departments.
  • Conduct safety meetings as needed and encourage staff participation in the local safety committee.
  • Complete driver observations, including initial, annual, and as-needed ride-along road tests.
  • Support recruiting, selecting, training, and retaining a quality driver workforce.
  • Support pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Maintain staffing levels based on business goals and customer needs.
  • Maintain the OTR and DYV schedules.
  • Use staffing tools and build relationships within the local community.
  • Supervise and coach all employees.
  • Oversee branch expenditures and monitor and control expenses.
  • Train and monitor employees on operational technology, equipment, and required-paperwork compliance.
  • Take trips as needed at the direction of the supervisor.
  • Ensure all trips and work are completed accurately, timely, and professionally.
  • Conduct coaching, discipline, and employment-separation processing as necessary.
  • Communicate with Dispatch to ensure all trips are covered.
  • Communicate staff-related issues to the Payroll Department.
  • Monitor and evaluate driver performance through physical observations and available technology.
  • Ensure drivers are scheduled and work within their Hours of Service.
  • Partner with the Driver Support Center.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained according to Fleet Department instructions.
  • Complete vehicle compliance inspections as required.
  • Follow the vehicle maintenance and repair policy provided by the Fleet Department.
  • Track the status and availability of out-of-service and available vehicles, including rental vehicles when necessary.
  • Update vehicle counts as required by the Fleet Department or Director of Operations.
