  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or another related field, or an associate's degree with 7 years of related experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 9 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 5 years of related work experience when using the bachelor's-degree pathway.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of customer lifecycle strategies for the new customer platform, focusing on onboarding, engagement, retention, loyalty, advocacy, and long-term growth.
  • Develop and optimize customer journeys and customer experience strategies to increase platform adoption, customer satisfaction, engagement, retention, and customer lifetime value.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer experiences across key customer touchpoints and lifecycle stages, and facilitate improvements that drive customer and business value.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on customer acquisition, onboarding, activation, engagement, and retention initiatives while aligning with broader business objectives.
  • Analyze customer, market, and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs, and develop strategies and recommendations that improve customer and business outcomes.
  • Lead and facilitate customer journey mapping, lifecycle planning, and customer experience optimization efforts supporting platform growth and evolution.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, research partners, and external vendors to gather and use customer insights, market research, and Voice of Customer feedback in business decisions and customer experience strategies.
  • Support the development and evolution of customer insight capabilities, customer research initiatives, and customer experience best practices across Residential Solutions.
  • Develop and evaluate performance metrics for customer onboarding, adoption, engagement, retention, loyalty, satisfaction, and other business objectives; measure performance and recommend continuous-improvement actions.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to evaluate capabilities, technologies, customer solutions, and engagement opportunities supporting platform growth, innovation, and customer value.
  • Lead through influence across a matrixed organization by building partnerships with Marketing, Product, Digital, Technology, Customer Care, Analytics, Operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage and coordinate vendor and agency relationships, including performance management, deliverables, reporting, quality standards, and alignment with business and customer objectives.
  • Serve as a customer advocate by promoting customer-centric decision-making and ensuring customer needs are reflected in strategies, initiatives, and platform enhancements.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members and stakeholders by sharing expertise, best practices, and recommendations that enhance customer experience and business performance.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, customer expectations, and competitive activities to identify opportunities for strategic growth and innovation of the new customer platform.

Duke Energy cuts Eastern NC and Asheville rate increase from 15.1% to 9.3%

Duke Energy Progress has agreed to reduce its proposed rate increase for customers in eastern North Carolina and the Asheville area from 15.1% to 9.3% over two years. The average residential customer will pay an additional $9.62 per month starting January, plus $5.89 more beginning January 2028. The settlement also caps Duke's return on equity at 9.8%. This follows significant pushback from state leaders and customers after Duke Energy reported $5 billion in profits in 2025 and over $1 billion in net income last quarter. The North Carolina Utilities Commission will review the proposal starting 11 August, with a final decision expected this autumn. Duke Energy Carolinas previously lowered its rate increase to 9.5%. Both Duke utilities will merge into one by 1 January 2026.
