Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Clinical Educator develops, implements, evaluates, and revises programs of orientation, in-service training, workshops, and continuing education to meet educational and developmental needs of APPs. Utilizes various teaching strategies and modalities to promote an environment of continuous learning and professional growth. Takes a lead role in all educational initiatives to ensure quality patient care and customer satisfaction while maintaining a clinical practice with direct patient care. Serves as a leader in the development, training, and monitoring of Advanced Practice Standards. Acts as a resource and liaison to the VUMC community by serving on hospital wide committees as well as, represents Vanderbilt well within the local and national professional community.

The Vanderbilt Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) utilizes a multidisciplinary approach specializing in the care of adult general and congenital cardiology, cardiac surgery, thoracic, transplant, and vascular patients. Our mission is to provide the highest level of care by applying evidence-based practice, compassion, education in caring for our patients and their loved ones. Integrates evidence-based practices into educational initiatives and activities
Utilizes the latest technology to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise programs of orientation, in-service training, workshops, and continuing education to meet educational and developmental needs of APPs.
Promotes an environment of professionalism and continuous learning and professional growth.
Establishes collegial partnerships to contribute to the educational improvement of APPs across the organization.
Maintains clinical competency in the focus area.
