Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science or higher, such as a Master of Science or PhD, in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • At least 1 year of management experience, or at least 1 year of staff-level engineering experience with management training.
  • At least 7 years of experience in software development, enterprise security, and identity management.
  • Experience defining strategic roadmaps, managing deliverables, and driving operational excellence for complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting code and architecture reviews, pressure-testing designs, and guiding tradeoffs across correctness, performance, scale, and operability.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, identity and access management, authentication, authorization, workload identity, privileged access, and policy enforcement.
  • Experience owning security-critical production systems where reliability, least privilege, auditability, and operational rigor are essential.
Responsibilities
  • Build and lead a high-performing Identity Engineering and Enterprise Security team, setting technical direction while empowering the team to own delivery.
  • Operate identity infrastructure as a mission-critical platform with reliability goals, safe rollouts, strong observability, healthy on-call practices, and rigorous incident learning.
  • Manage, coach, and develop security professionals, software engineers, and operations staff, ensuring clear priorities, measurable goals, effective operating rhythms, and career-growth opportunities.
  • Lead the identity-stack modernization and transformation from on-premises Active Directory to the cloud with high resilience and fault tolerance.
  • Improve access safety, speed, and accountability by reducing unnecessary privilege, strengthening governance, broadening coverage, improving auditability, and reducing friction for legitimate work.
  • Build and mature proactive and preventative security controls across corporate systems, cloud environments, identity platforms, endpoints, SaaS applications, and security-operations workflows.
  • Drive cross-functional security initiatives across Engineering, IT, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and business teams, aligning security priorities with company objectives, risk tolerance, and operational needs.
  • Establish and report meaningful security engineering and operations metrics, including program health, control effectiveness, availability performance, remediation progress, and risk-reduction outcomes.
  • Evaluate and improve security tooling, processes, and controls to reduce systemic risk, increase operational efficiency, and focus the team on high-value security work.

  • A track record of turning complex infrastructure problems into adopted platforms across Engineering, Security, IT, and internal teams.
  • A high bar for engineering quality, operational discipline, and long-term ownership.
  • Knowledge of Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, continuous integration and continuous delivery security, endpoint security, identity and access management, vulnerability management, observability, logging pipelines, and modern security engineering practices.
  • The ability to communicate security risk, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to technical, non-technical, and senior leadership audiences.
  • Experience improving enterprise security programs across SaaS applications, identity providers, endpoint controls, corporate infrastructure, and employee security workflows.

LinkedIn shuts Israel office, lays off nearly all 50 staff after $80M Oribi acquisition

LinkedIn is closing its Tel Aviv development centre and laying off nearly all of its roughly 50 employees. A small number will remain temporarily to handle ongoing business activities. The Microsoft-owned company opened the office in 2022 after acquiring Oribi, an Israel-based analytics startup founded by Iris Shoor, for an estimated $80 million to $90 million. At the time, LinkedIn said Oribi's technology would improve campaign attribution and measure website conversions. A LinkedIn spokesperson said the company is proposing changes to some roles to focus its teams on top priorities. The closure comes as Microsoft cuts costs, including a recent move to lay off 9,000 employees, though available information does not directly tie the Israel layoffs to broader restructuring.

LinkedIn launches paid advice sessions for premium users to monetise expertise

LinkedIn is rolling out a new feature for premium business subscribers that allows them to offer paid one-to-one advice sessions directly from their profiles. The tool, called Advice Sessions, enables followers to book and pay for consultations without leaving the platform. Derek Notman, founder of Intrepid Wealth Partners, said the feature could be particularly valuable for financial advisers seeking growth through new client connections. "It allows me to offer whatever services I want and get paid for it," Notman said. The launch comes as North American wealth managers have enjoyed annual growth rates of about 10% in assets under management over the past decade, though only 30% of that growth was organic, with the rest mainly attributable to market performance.

Microsoft's $20B ad business gets new leader as AI reshapes advertising landscape
