Requirements
  • We welcome candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Ideally, you'll have a minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering
  • Proficiency in designing chemical, polymer processing, and biochemical processes is highly valued
  • Experience in plastic extrusion technologies would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of HAZOP and risk analysis is a welcomed skill
  • If you're a member of the OIQ with a P. Eng. designation, it's appreciated
  • Understanding of environmental and safety standards is advantageous
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on the design, sourcing, installation, and commissioning of plastic extrusion equipment, covering raw material handling and downstream processing
  • Innovate and develop new manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Create process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, and related materials
  • Perform valve and pump sizing and selection, engaging with suppliers to ensure optimal choices
  • Prepare line lists, conduct line sizing, PSV calculations, and specify piping requirements
  • Choose equipment and instrumentation in accordance with process needs
  • Conduct HAZOP analysis, working closely with internal and external partners
  • Collaborate with suppliers on equipment design and sourcing, both for new and existing partnerships
  • Thoroughly review and approve final drawings and specifications
  • Actively contribute to plant layout development and 3D modeling efforts
  • Offer support, guidance, and direction to contractors and technicians during equipment installation and commissioning
  • Provide valuable process engineering input regarding environmental, building, and safety regulations
Desired Qualifications
