Responsibilities
  • Service Leadership: Collaborate with key stakeholders to coordinate, develop and execute strategies to achieve short- and long-term business objectives especially related to service activities and programs.
  • Works with district(s)/territories/Regional Sales Coordinators to ensure efficient and effective scheduling of CRDM implant and follow-up coverage for assigned geography.
  • Partners with sales team to drive key service initiatives and provide service assessments via periodic business reviews, RFPs, etc. that highlight the value of Medtronic service to our customers.
  • Lead and drive changes focused on service burden reduction and new service models.
  • Work with regional and district leadership to align resources based on business priorities and appropriate service demands.
  • CVG: Partner with district management teams to achieve business objectives, execute on CVG strategies, implant, revenue and expense goals.
  • Drive cross BU support for key CVG programs/needs.
  • Manage the CVG Champions Program to ensure proper execution of BU expectations. Drive accountability through adherence to deadlines and timely documentation of Champion-related activities in Salesforce.com and completion of other stated deliverables.
  • People Management: Manage Service Team to deliver unsurpassed service, technical expertise and support the achievement of implant and revenue goals.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to direct reports; provide regular performance reviews and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Assist employees with individual development planning.
  • Responsible Clinical Specialist recruiting and hiring. Continually work to maintain a strong, diverse bench of Clinical Specialist talent for future hiring opportunities.
  • Business Operations: Business Discipline: Sales support, inventory/OPC, credentialing, expense management, data privacy, PO pendings, warranty credits and required training.
  • Ensure efficient, effective use of inventory, expenses and assets.
  • Apply Customer Focused Quality Concepts

The Affera system offers physicians an all-in-one mapping and ablation platform designed to support procedural efficiency and patient care. The approval represents a milestone for Medtronic's Cardiac Ablation Solutions division in the global atrial fibrillation treatment market. Medtronic, a US-based medical equipment company with a market capitalisation of approximately $115.9 billion, develops and sells device-based therapies to healthcare systems and clinicians globally. The approval extends Medtronic's cardiac ablation offerings from Europe and the US into Canada, where it will compete with Abbott and Boston Scientific.

Medtronic executive Shields appointed CEO at Versa Vascular. 13th August 2026 Versa Vascular, developer of a novel transcatheter tricuspid valve repair system - AdapTR - has announced changes to its senior management team and the completion of new investment to support clinical study of its device. The company announced that Bill Shields, a former vice president and general manager of Medtronic's Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies division joins as CEO, replacing the retiring David Hovda, who will remain as an advisor to the company. According to Versa, Shields spent 15 years with Medtronic, where he spent seven years leading product development and multiple clinical studies. Previously, he led upstream and downstream marketing for the company's transcatheter valve programs over eight years, including multiple successful product launches. The company also announced a US$15 million expansion to its series C financing, bringing the total committed capital for the round to US$42 million, supporting completion of the ongoing first-in-human clinical study of the AdapTR device outside of the USA, a US early feasibility study of the technology, and further product development and optimisation. "I am thrilled to join Versa Vascular at a time when we are seeing positive results clinically, close to expanding our clinical work to the USA, and receiving continued investor confidence," said Shields. "I have seen and launched a number of innovative transcatheter devices in my career, and the AdapTR technology shows similar promise to create a superior therapy for patients.
