Requirements
  • Experience working in a dermatology office is required.
  • Computer skills and electronic medical records experience are required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A reliable source of transportation is required.
  • Medical Assisting Certification is preferred.
  • The position requires full-time availability Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
  • Assist providers with medical dermatology, cosmetic, and surgery appointments.
  • Scribe for providers and answer patient questions with guidance from providers.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including following up on patient clinical inquiries.
  • Serve as the lead medical assistant and point of contact for updates on outstanding tasks for the assigned provider.
  • Submit and assist with the assigned provider’s prior authorizations.
  • Serve as the point of contact for representatives following up on case and prior-authorization status.
  • Complete the end-of-day checklist before the provider’s medical assistant team leaves.
  • Ensure rooms are properly stocked and clean at the start and end of the day.
  • Assist with training new medical assistants.
  • Ensure the nurse schedule is appropriately managed throughout the day.
