- Experience working in a dermatology office is required.
- Computer skills and electronic medical records experience are required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A reliable source of transportation is required.
- Medical Assisting Certification is preferred.
- The position requires full-time availability Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
- Assist providers with medical dermatology, cosmetic, and surgery appointments.
- Scribe for providers and answer patient questions with guidance from providers.
- Perform administrative tasks, including following up on patient clinical inquiries.
- Serve as the lead medical assistant and point of contact for updates on outstanding tasks for the assigned provider.
- Submit and assist with the assigned provider’s prior authorizations.
- Serve as the point of contact for representatives following up on case and prior-authorization status.
- Complete the end-of-day checklist before the provider’s medical assistant team leaves.
- Ensure rooms are properly stocked and clean at the start and end of the day.
- Assist with training new medical assistants.
- Ensure the nurse schedule is appropriately managed throughout the day.
