Requirements
  • At least 10 years of progressive marketing experience, including 3–5 years in a senior leadership role managing teams and complex initiatives.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Demonstrated alignment with Festival Foods' mission, values, and Boomerang Basics.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capability.
  • Proven experience managing multi-channel marketing programs including digital, ecommerce, loyalty, and print.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and driving measurable results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in coaching, mentoring, and building high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization, digital marketing tools, analytics, performance measurement frameworks, and marketing technology stacks.
  • A track record of using data and insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to travel for store visits, industry conferences, and events as needed.
  • Ability to perform the essential job duties satisfactorily, including sitting or standing at a computer for up to 90% of the time and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated, omnichannel marketing strategies aligned with enterprise goals and growth priorities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape short- and long-term marketing priorities using data, trends, and performance insights.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of core marketing functions, including print media, digital marketing, ecommerce, and customer engagement channels.
  • Drive initiatives to improve return on investment, optimize spend, and enhance marketing effectiveness across all channels.
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning and localized relevance across Festival Foods markets to increase sales and elevate the guest experience.
  • Manage and optimize the marketing budget in alignment with strategic priorities and measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of leaders while fostering accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Operations, Information Technology, Finance, and Store Leadership to develop and execute company-wide marketing programs.
  • Translate the Annual Operating Plan into marketing roadmaps with defined key performance indicators, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement key performance indicators, best practices, tools, and technologies to improve marketing processes, capabilities, and efficiencies.
  • Monitor local, regional, and national trends to inform strategy and respond proactively to market dynamics.
  • Build relationships across all organizational levels to support alignment, visibility, and successful execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Oversee associate development within the marketing function, including coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Represent Festival Foods at industry events, vendor partnerships, and relevant professional organizations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schnuck Markets Acquires Festival Foods

Schnuck Markets, Inc. has acquired 100% of the shares of Festival Foods and Hometown Grocers, Inc. through the 1939 Group, Inc., owned by the Schnuck family. The acquisition includes shares from CEO Mark Skogen and the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The 1939 Group will maintain the existing store banners and corporate headquarters, with Todd Schnuck as Chairman and CEO. The transaction is expected to close in October, subject to customary approvals.
