Requirements
- A Master's degree in Bilingual Education or a related education field is required.
- Successful classroom teaching experience with diverse K–12 students is required.
- Successful graduate-level teaching experience in face-to-face and online settings is required.
- Successful leadership experience is required.
- Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal/intercultural skills across a wide range of mediums, including social media, is required.
- Proficiency in online learning platforms, including Canvas, Adobe Connect, Zoom, and other digital media, is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required.
- Strong bilingual education expertise in urban areas is required.
- Commitment to culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy is required.
Responsibilities
- Teach graduate courses in the Touro College GSE Bilingual Advanced Teacher Certification Program on campus and online.
- Supervise candidates during clinical practice when assigned.
- Provide academic advisement to program candidates.
- Serve as an instructional leader by facilitating and participating with collaborative faculty teams, revising courses, and developing and sustaining transformative pedagogy in graduate teaching and learning.
- Support and contribute to program-level continuous improvement for national and professional accreditation.
- Uphold the missions and values of Touro College and the GSE.
Desired Qualifications
- A terminal degree (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) is preferred.
- Successful experience supervising degree candidates in clinical field placements if assigned for clinical supervision.
