- Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certification, or, for a new graduate, an exam date supplied before employment starts; certification must be obtained within six months of hire and followed by a six-month probationary period.
- Completion of a certified Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Technician, or comparable training program, or experience as an Operating Room Technician or Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Provide crucial support to physicians throughout a wide range of ambulatory surgical procedures.
- Function as a scrub person, circulation assistant, and member of the surgical team.
- Assist in the care, preparation, and maintenance of supplies and equipment in the Operating Room.
- Prior experience as an Operating Room or Surgical Technician in an acute care setting.
