Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and Microsoft Office, with knowledge of GeoPak.
  • Strong communication, scheduling, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to simultaneously perform, track, prioritize, and coordinate challenges across multiple projects, utility owners, and professionals.
  • Situational problem-solving ability in varied utility engineering circumstances and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to train and lead less experienced utility Engineer-in-Training staff.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as project manager for utility coordination and engineering projects.
  • Have direct responsibility for Subsurface Utility Engineering and utility coordination or engineering projects.
  • Oversee the preparation of existing Subsurface Utility Engineering utility plans.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of field data and deliverables.
  • Conduct meetings, prepare agreements and cost estimates, and review design plans, specifications, and other submittals.
  • Design and review utility relocation plans to comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience designing and reviewing utility relocation plans in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Texas Department of Transportation Utility Accommodation Rules.
  • Knowledge of the Texas Department of Transportation Utility Manual.
  • Knowledge of the Texas Department of Transportation Roadway Design Manual.
  • Knowledge of the Texas Department of Transportation Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
  • Knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, Title 23, Part 645, Subparts A and B, concerning utilities.
  • Knowledge of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance Association standards.
