Requirements
  • BSW or related degree required; MSW preferred
  • 2 years of experience working in human trafficking victim services or a related field (e.g., domestic violence, sexual assault, immigrant rights, workers’ rights) in a role that involves direct service provision
  • Experience with trauma informed care preferably a working knowledge of Sanctuary Model for Trauma informed services
  • Must understand the issue of Domestic and Foreign Human Trafficking and prostitution
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel from site to site as needed in the performance of duties
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check; completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment

Responsibilities
  • Triage and screen callers to the Human Trafficking Hotline; provide trauma-informed, rapid response over the phone and as needed in person to newly identified victims of human trafficking; ensure timely referrals and connection to resources for immediate stabilization
  • Provide short-term triage, assessment, and service coordination for stabilization, and then refer victims to supportive services for long-term follow up care
  • Travel throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding counties (Delaware, Montgomery, and Bucks) as needed to meet with victims in person
  • Manage a 24/7 hotline for response to survivors of human trafficking and handle a direct service caseload of up to 5-8 hotline clients at any given time
  • Conduct initial screening and triage of newly identified survivors over the phone and as needed in the community
  • Provide technical assistance for service providers, business, and city departments who call the hotline
  • Submit timely case notes and maintain up to date data entry on all hotline services; ensure client confidentiality in all communication
Desired Qualifications
  • MSW preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Experience with Sanctuary Model for Trauma Informed Services (if not already)
