JITX is transforming hardware design by letting electrical engineers write code to design electronics. This new way of design captures expert hardware engineering knowledge and makes it reusable, and scalable like software. Our vision at JITX is to automate hardware design for the benefit of science and the welfare of humanity. Dedicated to solving difficult problems with huge impact, our first step is to automate circuit board design.
The ideal candidate would be a Product Engineer eager to be part of a growing team, reshaping the future of electronics. As a Product Engineer you would use JITX to build new and exciting examples -- showing off the power of using a programming language for hardware design. Expect projects like creating small designs as quickly as possible, generating analog circuits for signal processing, scripting microvia BGA fanouts. You’ll partner with internal and external expert electrical engineers - we want you to be coding focused but have some basic experience designing your own electronics.
Summary of responsibilities
- Create demos: Build exciting applications of JITX that automate hardware design tasks.
- Write tutorials: write clear and compelling tutorials that document your demo projects.
- Prioritize features: share feedback with our software team, stakeholders, and leaders to improve JITX based on your experience using it.
- Circuit Board Design: Requiring 2+ years of design experience in circuit board design. Please showcase any projects!
- Education: Degree or degrees in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
This role is eligible for multiple levels (entry level or mid level).
Preference to local Bay Area candidates will be given. This candidate will be expected to be local (or relocated from another state within the USA).
POST-COVID WORK PLAN This role will need to be local within the California Bay Area, hybrid in our San Jose or Berkeley office.
