Requirements
  • NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) or equivalent.
  • CMIOSH or willingness to work towards it.
  • Strong knowledge of United Kingdom health and safety legislation.
  • Proven health and safety leadership experience in high-risk sectors such as healthcare, waste, logistics, or industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of hazardous or clinical waste risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive behavioural change.
  • Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience delivering training.
  • Commercial awareness, including managing health and safety-related costs.
  • A driving licence and willingness to travel.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior leadership and site teams to strengthen a proactive health and safety culture across all United Kingdom operations.
  • Develop and deliver a risk-based health and safety strategy aligned to operational priorities across facilities, logistics, and customer environments.
  • Lead the implementation of health and safety policies, standard operating procedures, and risk assessments across all activities.
  • Monitor performance through data, reporting, and audits, driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring robust root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
  • Facilitate health and safety committees and coordinate improvement plans with regional leaders and site teams.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes, including inductions and refresher training, ensuring accurate compliance records.
  • Act as the key contact for regulators, insurers, and legal bodies, ensuring full compliance with United Kingdom legislation.
  • Work closely with operational teams to identify and implement risk-based safety improvements.
