Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in waste management, environmental consulting, or a related field, with a focus on hazardous and solid waste.
  • Strong knowledge of RCRA regulations, solid and universal waste regulations and management strategies.
  • Familiarity with environmental ISO standards and auditing processes.
  • Experience developing emergency action plans and fire response procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CHMM, CSP, EHS Manager) are a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Advise clients on compliance with RCRA and other federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous, solid, and universal waste management.
  • Waste Management Strategy Development: Create and implement waste management plans tailored to clients' specific needs and operational requirements.
  • Recycling Initiatives: Advise clients on effective recycling strategies and programs to minimize waste and enhance sustainability.
  • Emergency Action Plans: Develop and review emergency action plans and procedures for clients related to waste handling and disposal, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs for clients and their employees on waste management regulations, best practices, and emergency preparedness.
  • ISO Audits: Provide guidance and support for ISO 14001 audits, ensuring adherence to environmental management standards and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Assist clients in implementing effective environmental management systems in preparation for formal certification audits.
  • Field Assessments: Conduct site assessments and inspections to identify waste management issues and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Miscellaneous EHS Duties: Support clients with additional EHS-related tasks, including risk assessments, environmental impact analyses, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing ongoing support and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
