HCC Clinic Lead RN Position Description:

This posting is for a position on a newly built, early phase, outpatient, oncology research unit.   This individual will work collaboratively with the Clinical Trials Office nurses, program managers and staff.  They will participate, as needed, in the study feasibility process by reviewing protocols and determining the study patient flow and provision of center resources to promote protocol compliance and study participant enrollment and retention. This role will require additional research credentialing upon hire, and study-specific training as required by sponsors. 

The Infusion Lead Nurse in the Hollings Infusion Center reports to the Manager. Under general supervision, the Infusion Lead Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. The Infusion Lead Nurse works in coordination with the nursing leadership. This position ensures the achievement of optimal evidence-based patient care and department goals through efficient daily operations and compliance with established rules, regulations and guidelines. The Infusion Lead Nurse assists with providing leadership presence and staff support.

Bachelor of Nursing degree and a minimum of two years of work experience as a registered nurse required. Current South Carolina licensure as a registered nurse or compact state required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Current Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate Course issued by Oncology Nursing Society or NCI Cancer Center Collaborative: Essentials of Systemic Cancer Therapies for the Oncology Nurse required.
