Responsibilities

The successful candidate for this role will serve as the Manager of our Applications Operations team and will provide leadership to a team responsible for the administration of our critical, third-party business applications.

• Provide day-to-day guidance to team members, keeping them aligned with business objectives and needs.
• Partner with business leaders to understand their third-party technology needs.
• Assist with vendor management to ensure vendors are delivering according to business needs.
• Mentor team members to grow their capabilities.
• Set and maintain a culture of continuous improvement for our application stacks.
• Collaborate closely with adjacent IT teams that provide services for the team and/or utilize application components.
• Hire the right talent and perform effective employee evaluation duties.
• Assist with staffing decisions such as determining headcount and skillsets to optimally provide quality service based on business needs.
• Lead project breakdowns and provide accurate level of effort and delivery time estimates.
• Oversee that the ITSM change process is being conducted in a manner that protects business from being interrupted by the change.
• Ensure that both operational and project work are being worked in a best-practice and appropriately prioritized manner.
• Implement effective process while maintaining rapid delivery.
• Perform effective ITSM incident and problem management.

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a technical field or evidence of exceptional ability.
• Must possess a passion for technology and leading people.
• 5+ years of experience managing IT teams.
• Strong ability to stay organized and keep the team organized.
• Demonstrated experience driving a culture of continuous improvement.
• Possess understanding of IT best practices.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate to non-IT staff.
• Must possess a high degree of analytical thinking.
• Strong team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing transportation/logistics technology teams.
• Background administering TMS systems and surrounding technology.
• Experience with Atlassian solutions (Jira, Confluence, etc).
