  • A master's degree in an actuarial, statistical, or data science field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seven to nine years of experience building and deploying predictive models in an insurance environment.
  • Demonstrated success implementing predictive modeling solutions for insurance use cases.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Strong Python skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of ratemaking, actuarial methods and methodologies, predictive modeling, and data science methods, including how to apply them across different projects.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to understand the broader business context and drive initiatives through completion.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and departmental groups while managing multiple moving pieces.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to business leaders.
Responsibilities
  • Personally build predictive models for difficult and complex projects, ensuring that solutions meet organizational strategy and regulatory or internal parameters.
  • Lead the design of models suited to specific tasks and ensure analytic efforts are executed correctly.
  • Create execution plans and assist predictive modelers in building robust predictive models.
  • Identify and propose new technologies and tools for the Predictive Modeling and Analytics business unit.
  • Communicate project results and challenges to business partners in an understandable manner, including proactively communicating delays.
  • Mentor team members through development, training, and career pathing.
  • Ensure that projects have appropriate documentation addressing potential regulatory, legal, and business concerns.
  • Develop new rating features and acquisition, retention, and conversion models to support pricing decisions.
  • Lead end-to-end pricing initiatives from exploratory analysis and model development through governance, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Partner with Actuarial, Product, Underwriting, and IT teams to translate business objectives into actuarially defensible pricing solutions, ensure regulatory compliance, and support timely rate filings.
Desired Qualifications
  • Seven to nine years of actuarial experience.
  • Experience with modeling tools and software beyond Python.
  • Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
