Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of materials characterization techniques.
  • Understanding of safe handling practices for hazardous materials and laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to work on-site at the Louisville, Colorado location.
  • Ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods while conducting laboratory or production activities.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with engineers to support and execute experimental plans focused on optimizing sulfide solid-state electrolytes.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and interpretation of experimental results.
  • Support polymer processing activities, including slurry preparation, mixing, casting, coating, drying, and material handling for development-scale experiments.
  • Document process conditions, observations, and results to support process optimization and scale-up efforts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through routine housekeeping activities.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials, chemicals, and laboratory equipment in accordance with established procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with polymer processing or wet-chemical materials processing methods, such as mixing, slurry preparation, casting, coating, or drying.
  • Experience with synthetic chemistry.
  • Knowledge of lithium-ion battery materials, synthesis methods, and materials optimization.

Solid Power reports $23.8M Q2 loss as electrolyte pilot line nears completion

Solid Power reported a second-quarter net loss of $23.8 million, or $0.11 per share, as the solid-state battery materials company continued investing in electrolyte development and production capabilities. Revenue for the quarter was negative $300,000, primarily due to a $1.2 million reversal of first-quarter revenue following changed assumptions about milestone payments under its SK On research and development licence agreement. Year-to-date revenue totalled $2.8 million. Installation of Solid Power's continuous electrolyte production pilot line remained on schedule. Equipment acceptance testing is expected to complete in the third quarter, with plant validation and operational startup anticipated in the fourth quarter. Once commissioned, the line is expected to have capacity of 45 metric tonnes, with output anticipated in the first quarter of 2027.

BMW exec Uwe Breitweg joins Solid Power board as director

Solid Power has appointed Uwe Breitweg, BMW Group's Vice President Powertrain, Emission and Battery Strategy, to its board of directors, effective 1 July 2026. The appointment reinforces BMW's strategic partnership with the solid-state battery technology developer. Breitweg brings over 20 years of automotive leadership experience, having held his current role since 2021. Previously, he served as Vice President Powertrain Systems Industrial Customers at BMW from 2016 to 2021. Solid Power is developing solid-state battery technology using sulfide-based solid electrolyte material, aiming to deliver extended range, longer life, improved safety and lower costs compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries. Solid Power raises $121.3M, reaches $435M liquidity as battery milestones advance

Solid Power Q1 revenue falls 50% but production lines now running on three continents
