THE ROLE

Sotheby’s Data & Analytics team is seeking a hardworking and motivated candidate to accelerate our efforts to drive trust in and the usage of data to drive decision making across the company.

Responsibilities

Understand business requirements from various team members and plan a solution to address data requirements
Collect, refine, and prepare data for analytics and visualization
Develop, design, and maintain Tableau dashboards and analytics
Define new critical metrics and analyze them to form actionable recommendations
Present to business leaders in both ad-hoc forums and routine business review to drive strategic decision making.
Identify new data functionalities or enhancements needed to support better decision making and business growth.
Tackle any data or performance issues related to workbooks and data sources

Ideal Experience and Competencies

Bachelor’s Degree
3-5 years relevant work experience: SQL, conducting large scale data analyses to support business decision making, working with structured and unstructured data, joining large and complex data sets.
3-5 years proven experience in all phases of the BI lifecycle in a Tableau environment including dashboard design, development, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
Solid experience with data preparation for reporting (e.g., data profiling, data cleansing, volume assessment and partitioning) including ETL and data modeling (relational and dimensional)
Ability to move between high level architectural review/design and the “roll up the sleeves” level of providing oversight and execution for project delivery.
Proficient in Excel, SQL (DBT), and Tableau
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional and adaptable

The proposed base salary for this position ranges from $115,000-$130,000. In addition to base salary successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus, as well as a competitive benefits package. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
