Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects, involving multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.
  • Participate in all phases of product development, including requirements definition, concept generation, detailed design, manufacturing process development, assembly, integration, verification, and validation testing.
  • Manage a large scope of mechanical design work including possible partnership with external partners.
  • Create new product architectures for next generation instruments
  • Conceptualize and examine complex electro mechanical assemblies, create theoretical models, conducts empirical confirmation & performs computer assisted simulations
  • Design and Develop mechanical parts and assemblies, with careful consideration for mechanical design, kinematics, materials (plastics & metals) and stress analysis
  • Create product functional and design specifications. Performs DFMEA on parts that are designed
  • Working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams to define requirements for new and current designs
  • Study and test product designs
  • Identify and research new vendors/processes to manufacture components
  • Assist in initial design of fixtures and processes to assemble components
  • Create new product assembly instructions
  • Develop and perform component verification testing and product validation testing
  • Support production of final product by troubleshooting process and component problems
  • Provide engineering support to Manufacturing, NPI, and Service to facilitate transfer of designs.
  • Document, prepare and review patent submissions
  • Assess field reliability data and improve existing product designs as necessary
  • Shepherd projects through the design control process (design specification, design review, risk analysis, etc.), and support New Product Introduction personnel in initial builds (procurement, assembly, troubleshooting)

  • Experience with at least two of the following areas: control systems, system integration, mass flow and thermodynamics, microfluidics systems, injection molding, optical systems
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and EPDM/PDMWorks
  • Experienced in generating mechanical drawings
  • Proficient with analysis methods (FEA and tolerance analysis)
  • Knowledge of and experience with electronic document control systems (ECO process)
  • Can independently identify design problems and come up with suggested solutions
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team including chemistry and molecular biology

  • Experience with injection molded part design

U.S. District Court Awards 10X Genomics Permanent Injunction In Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Bruker Corporation'S Geomx Products

PLEASANTON, Calif., Dec. 23, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- 10x Genomics, Inc. (Nasdaq: TXG), a leader in single cell and spatial biology, announced today it had secured a permanent injunction in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware against the GeoMx products sold by Bruker Corporation (Nasdaq: BRKR), which acquired the product line from NanoString Technologies. To minimize the risk of disruption to ongoing research, 10x Genomics requested a carve-out for GeoMx users who installed an instrument prior to the trial in November 2023.The injunction, which the Court said it will enter in January 2025, is expected to prohibit Bruker from making, using, selling or offering to sell in the United States its GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler and associated instruments, reagents and services for RNA and protein detection.
