Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a U.S. Navy Avionics Technician (AT-O) performing organizational-level maintenance, required.
  • Demonstrated success in training, mentoring, or developing instructional materials for Navy personnel.
  • Experience working within Navy or DoD training environments, required.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including analysts, curriculum developers, and psychologists.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% to support Fleet training events.
Responsibilities
  • Review and validate training materials to ensure accuracy, technical soundness, and operational relevance.
  • Audit curricula to confirm alignment with Navy maintenance procedures and instructional design best practices.
  • Collaborate with Instructional Systems Analysts to identify training requirements and translate technical knowledge into effective training solutions.
  • Support the development of maintenance-related assessment items and performance metrics.
  • Provide authoritative insight into organizational-level avionics maintenance practices, procedures, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute SME input to task analysis workshops, training strategy sessions, and courseware design reviews.
  • Ensure training materials accurately reflect the tools, systems, and documentation used by AT-Os in the Fleet.
  • Support Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), methodologies, and deliverables for training development projects.
  • Serve as a consultant to NAWCTSD Orlando acquisition teams and Navy program offices on maintenance training technologies.
  • Monitor industry and Fleet trends to integrate innovations into Navy training programs.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and technical exchanges with training agencies, Fleet representatives, and DoD stakeholders.
