The Health Equity Program Manager provides support to Health Equity initiatives by coordinating program services, collecting local data, ensuring its accuracy and communicating the findings to system leaders. This position is responsible for supporting and implementing hospital health equity initiatives, community health programs, and community health needs assessments and implementation strategies that are compliant with quality, regulatory, and industry standards. The manager will assist with the planning for the health equity accreditation process. In addition, this position supports the Health Equity ICCE through work on special projects as needed to achieve department and system goals.

Position Description- Health Equity Operations Manager
Reporting to the Administrator of Health Equity Integrated Center of Clinical Excellence (ICCE) as the Health Equity Program Manager. The Health Equity Program Manager provides support to Health Equity initiatives by coordinating program services, collecting local data, ensuring its accuracy and communicating the findings to system leaders. This position is responsible for supporting and implementing hospital health equity initiatives, community health programs, and community health needs assessments and implementation strategies that are compliant with quality, regulatory, and industry standards. The manager will assist with the planning for the health equity accreditation process. In addition, this position supports the Health Equity ICCE through work on special projects as needed to achieve department and system goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads the implementation of health equity priorities, data standards, disparity analysis, interventions, and outcomes measurement.
- Supports the development and implementation of MUSC’s health equity strategy and ensures that health equity is integrated across the organization’s policies, programs, and services.
- Collaborates in a cross-functional team to identify policies, strategies, and/or programs to advance health equity through MUSC’s data driven initiatives and programs.
- Designs, leads, and manages various projects and initiatives that require broad organizational support and input from multiple stakeholders.
- Oversees the performance of quantitative analysis to support the implementation and monitoring of health equity initiatives as well as coordination and of tracking and reporting of milestones and synergy realization.
Required Qualifications:
- Must possess knowledge of community health, as normally obtained through a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Community Health or a related field with two (2) years of experience managing programs within community health, public health, or social services; or an equivalent a combination of education and experience.
- In-depth knowledge of public health, social determinants of health, and other systemic barriers that contribute to health inequities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to meet deadlines and achieve quality results.
- Analytical skills to develop appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data and other information.
- Project management skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other database and data visualization tools.
- Excellent communication (interpersonal, verbal and written) skills required.
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment which includes matrix reporting at both system office and assigned regions.
- Occasional travel to various community sites as needed. Travel for this role will be less than 20%.
Additional Job Description
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience
