Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse is required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is required, either from the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare.
  • Ability to perform the required standing, sitting, walking, stair climbing, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, grasping, pinching, and fine and gross motor functions.
  • Ability to maintain the required corrected vision, depth perception, color discrimination, peripheral vision, and hearing acuity.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations, work rotating shifts, and work overtime as required.
  • Ability to work in a latex-safe environment and maintain tactile sensory functions.
  • Ability to be physically qualified for respirator use initially and as required for selected positions.
Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level using the nursing process.
  • Assess patients, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and implement interventions, coordinate care, provide health teaching and promotion, and evaluate goals and interventions.
  • Provide patient- and family-centered care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
  • Direct and lead assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age- and developmentally appropriate care.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment by ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
  • Coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through care management principles.
  • Identify clinical priorities and initiate actions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Participate in shared governance, peer review, professional development, and the professional practice model.
  • Promote a healthy work environment and take personal responsibility for professional growth.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Nursing degree is preferred.
