Vice President of Quality Assurance

Providing exceptional product performance, reliability, consistency, and quality is a core operating value of Astera Labs. As the Head of Quality Assurance, the ideal candidate will be relentless in driving towards supplying the highest quality products for our customer’s increasingly complex devices. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer quality management, ensuring full product traceability, fostering a “break the part” culture of device reliability, while also ensuring all environmental standards are surpassed.

This cross functional role will also require exceptional communication for both internal and external parties. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with PCBA quality as well as being an expert in high-speed chips. You will also be responsible for building, inspiring, and leading the Quality organization from a talent perspective.

In this role, you will lead the quality organization to success across four domains: 

• Customer quality (returns root cause analysis and corrective action)
• Supplier quality (audits, yield)
• New product development (reliability qualifications, design for reliability)
• Regulatory compliance (ISO, RoHS, conflict materials, safety, exports, electromagnetic interference).

Qualifications:

• 10+ years’ experience as a director or above in Quality Assurance, with a degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent.
• Exceptional track record in handling high-level customer quality escalations with Tier-1 OEMs, hyperscalers, and CSPs for PCIe/CXL/Memory technologies
• Expert in qualifying PCIe/CXL/Or similar high-speed systems for data centers
• Deep understanding of Hyperscale Data Center deployments and customer interests
• Own all aspects of Quality Assurance including manufacturing, chip, PCBA, reliability, QA test, FA and debug with ability to generate robust documentation and customer management
• Experience with Quality Management Systems, certifications, and ISO compliance
• Proven ability to recruit, manage, and build a team of customer facing quality engineers
• Track record of innovative solutions to solve problems due to resource or time constraints
• Success track record of working with fast-paced interdisciplinary engineering groups including pre-silicon, post-silicon validation, and application engineering teams
• Ability to ensure compliance with all environmental requirements and standards
