Position Summary

Premise is growing! We’re hiring a Staff Data Engineer to work on the data we collect about market performance in stores around the world. This position will involve building data pipelines, creating data quality checks, devising data marts that house insights and trends from this data, and developing back end systems or applications to build a robust data platform. You will collaborate with diverse teams of data scientists, data analysts, operations managers, product managers, and more. Premise looks for engineers who are passionate technologists with a hunger for learning; who like to take highly complex problems, design solutions and build simple, secure, lightweight systems and services with an eye toward future scalability; and who are continually seeking to improve themselves and their teams.

**This position is based out of LATAM.

What You Will Do

• Write production-level code to implement data pipelines, applications and analytical models.
• Work with large and complex data sets to help customers address their marketing, distribution, and retail execution challenges in traditional trade stores around the world.
• Develop an in-depth understanding and ownership of the data, defining out data quality standards and implementing automated checks that ensure we meet those standards.
• Partner with our sales, customer success, and operations teams to define the direction of this data product and ensure our technology is well-aligned with their goals.
• Identify and leverage opportunities to continually improve data quality, systems, processes, and standards.

What You Bring Along

• Fluent in English (speaking/reading/writing)
• BS/MS in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Computer Science, etc. or equivalent work experience & analytical skills.
• Experience with preferably Java or Python.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with data streaming such as Kafka, Kinesis or Google Sub/Pub
• Passion for learning and sharing knowledge with the team around you.
• Experience with database management is a plus.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
