This position will be involved in the month end close process, including preparation and review of various financial reports, reconciliations and assist in ad hoc technical accounting projects as needed. This role will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with established internal controls. In this role, you will partner with other business functions on projects, lead corporate initiatives towards process improvement and support transformational projects to achieve best in class results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and account analysis for various US general ledger accounts
- Prepare account reconciliations on a monthly basis and ensure outstanding reconciling items are cleared on a timely basis
- Prepare the monthly Balance Sheet fluctuation analysis
- Prepare and present monthly reporting schedules to management, providing commentary and noting fluctuation changes from prior periods
- Support cross-functional teams including revenue, tax, finance, and cost accounting with journal entry posting and account analysis
- Perform ad hoc technical accounting research and evaluation of non-recurring accounting transactions, including having a thorough understanding of associated legal documents, documentation of accounting conclusions, as needed, and understanding proposed journal entries for posting in the GL
- Oversee global account reconciliation process and conduct periodic quality reviews of account reconciliations
- Reviews journal entries and various account reconciliations to facilitate the month end closing process
- Conduct periodic global accounting team trainings around best practices for reconciliations and other key accounting topics
- Design, implement, and maintain effective accounting processes, policies, and internal controls
- Identify automation opportunities while proactively engaging and collaborating with accounting transformation team members to build various scalable and transformational processes as well as to support new business initiatives
- Perform other related duties or ad hoc projects
- Assist in audit activities with internal and external auditors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and an active CPA license
- 5+ years of demonstrated success in accounting roles of increasing responsibility, preferably a mix of both public accounting and corporate accounting roles within a publicly traded company
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC Regulations and understanding of SOX 404(b) compliance
- Experience working with global financial systems, preferably Oracle and SAP
- Demonstrated experience with process and system automation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a good team player to solve problems and work with colleagues globally
- Must have the ability to execute multiple tasks, while remaining detail oriented with high commitment to quality, and able to adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience managing a team with a commitment to creating an environment that fosters career growth and development for the team
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the organization
- Passion in managing implementation of technology and executing process improvements
