A Day in the Life
In this exciting role as a Battery Manufacturing Engineer II at Medtronic’s Energy & Component Center (MECC), you will have responsibility for supporting and improving the manufacturing of the high quality batteries used in implantable medical devices. You will be responsible for day to day production support, new process development support and lead improvement projects. The Brooklyn Center facility supports the design, development, and production of components used in implantable devices for a variety of Medtronic businesses. In this role you will gain experience with products across Medtronic’s portfolio, supporting your development and growth. This role is responsible for improving manufacturing quality, lead time and cost through active problem solving, developing solutions and implementing process changes in accordance with the quality system. • Engineering and Problem-solving tools: MINITAB, JMP, SIX SIGMA, DOE, GR&R, DMAIC A3,

• Ability to function independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
• Provide written reports and technical engineering documentation
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Minimum Requirements
- Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
- Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
- Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
- Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
- May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
- Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
- Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
- Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
- Review and analyze data from the manufacturing process to understand process performance
- Support battery testing processes by analyzing battery testing data
Minimum Requirements
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$79,200.00 - $118,800.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
