Requirements
  • Have a Ph.D. with significant post-doctoral experience
  • Have Post-Doctoral Fellowship in cancer research with evidence of exceptional research achievements
  • Provide a compelling research vision that aligns with, or is applicable to, the McGill Division of Thoracic Surgery’s core mission to improve outcomes for patients suffering from disease and malignancies of the chest and foregut
  • Possess proven published experience in cancer biology and/or bioengineering
  • Have evidence of strong research productivity, with a demonstrated ability to attract competitive funding
  • Have the ability to collaborate effectively and create synergies with colleagues and stakeholders from a diverse background
  • Fluency in English is essential; a working knowledge of French, or a commitment to acquiring it within a few years of appointment is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Develop an independent, externally funded research program of the highest international standards in their own areas of expertise, this program is expected to include interdisciplinary collaborations with relevant partner units within the Cancer Research Program of the RI-MUHC, the Goodman Cancer Institute at McGill University, and Biomedical Engineering
  • Disseminate research findings through high impact peer-reviewed publications and other knowledge translation and exchange activities
  • Participate in relevant aspects of McGill’s academic mission including teaching, supervision of a diverse body of graduate students, and service to the scholarly community
  • Contribute to the research mission of the RI-MUHC and McGill University
  • Be committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).
