  • University or college diploma in occupational health and safety or Environment or related field or related experience
  • 7-10 years of experience in industrial, environment, health and safety or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Sound knowledge on environmental, health and safety management (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001)
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment plants
  • Training in incident investigation and root cause is an asset

  • Developing and managing an elite Health and Safety program in a food manufacturing facility
  • Establishing an EHS culture of excellence
  • Designing and implementing the EHS management system to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements
  • Leading safety development for all plant employees and leaders
  • Ensuring the site maintains up-to-date operating permits
  • Assessing and reviewing the current program to ensure safety expectations are exceeded
  • Completing annual review of Health, Safety, and environment program
  • Managing incident reporting and investigation process
  • Advising on CAPEX projects to ensure EHS aspects are integrated
  • Conducting periodic occupational health and safety sites audits
  • Supporting and facilitating the delivery of selected EHS training
  • Overseeing wastewater treatment plant performance
  • Acting as the facility’s primary contact for all environmental and OHS regulatory officials
