Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Active State of MA RN License
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting
  • Experience with Epic EHR
  • IT experience or advanced IT training
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge with clinical informatics
  • Ability to translate clinical needs into system application solutions
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks and project components
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and project management tools/techniques
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • MS Word, Excel, and PPT proficient
Responsibilities
  • Gathers input from multidisciplinary team stakeholders and seeks feedback to define and address problems and recommend IT solutions
  • Reviews workflow and other pertinent information to formulate system recommendations that will result in efficiencies, improved patient care and/or improved data collection and analysis
  • Serves as the clinical liaison on development and implementation projects, conveying clinical care, operational issues, and needs
  • Tests or assists the Information Systems Department in testing and implementation of new systems, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Troubleshoots questions and problems related to clinical applications
  • Collaborates with IT team members to resolve issues by brainstorming and conducting thorough investigations
  • Identifies trends and opportunities for system/procedural changes and/or education
  • Participates in post-implementation change evaluation and supports users in maintaining changed processes
  • Creates, edits, and/or contributes to system documentation, policies and procedures and communications related to clinical system usage
  • Develops materials and educational programs and trains clinical system users
  • Leads or participates in multidisciplinary projects and teams related to clinical system use and improvements
  • Identifies root and contributory causes of barriers and performance gaps through thorough investigation
  • Creates a project plan with clear objectives and timelines to streamline processes and improve overall performance
  • Maintains project tools to communicate within the team(s) leadership the status of initiatives
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of nursing practices, regulatory standards and organizational direction
