Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • An active, in-scope U.S. Government-issued Secret clearance is required before the start date.
  • One to three years of direct experience in Configuration Management or a related information technology field is required.
  • A basic understanding of Information Technology Service Management principles and prior experience using an IT Service Management tool are required; ServiceNow experience is a significant plus.
  • A solid understanding of networking concepts is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • The ability to commute to Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, for full-time on-site support is required.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain the configuration management plan outlining the processes, standards, and tools used to manage configurations across the DoD network.
  • Support the change management process by participating in requesting, evaluating, approving, and implementing changes to configuration items such as servers, routers, and circuit data.
  • Ensure that configuration items are properly labeled and identified in the Configuration Management Database.
  • Receive, track, and analyze change requests in the ServiceNow environment, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
  • Monitor approved changes to ensure they are implemented correctly.
  • Conduct periodic configuration-item audits to verify conformance with established baselines and standards.
  • Identify, document, and report discrepancies between auto-discovered and documented configurations.
  • Prepare and present audit reports to management, including key findings and corrective recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain ServiceNow dashboards representing baseline configuration items across the Defense Information System Network.
  • Assist with process documentation to keep it current and aligned with best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of configuration management processes and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, with equivalent professional experience strongly considered.
  • Commitment to obtaining Security+ certification or an equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification within the specified timeframe.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Interest in developing ServiceNow reporting and dashboard skills.
