- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- An Associate Degree in Nursing and three years of nursing experience are required.
- A Nursing Diploma and three years of nursing experience are required.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and two years of nursing experience are required.
- At least one year of nurse leadership experience is required.
- Must possess current licensure by the State Board of Examiners of Nurses in the nursing center state.
- Must maintain current Basic Life Support or cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
- Account for the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care on the assigned nursing unit while achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient, family, and employee satisfaction.
- Ensure that care delivery is consistent with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and policies and complies with accepted standards of practice, state and federal regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain adequate nursing coverage and provide safe nursing care.
- Participate with the interdisciplinary team in developing, implementing, and evaluating ways to achieve patient goals and minimize rehospitalizations.
- Mentor and educate nurses, work with physicians and other medical professionals, and serve as a resource to staff within the nursing unit regarding service quality.
- Oversee medication management to ensure adequate supplies and compliance with company policy.
- Provide direct patient care alongside other unit nurses to maintain clinical skills.
