Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple-frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently and with a team.

  • Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

  • Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders as needed.
  • Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and reliable and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work in and be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain duties.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to work full time, with hours varying according to business needs and without a guarantee of 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
  • Observe team performance, provide feedback, hold team members accountable, and recognize strong guest experience moments.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action, align the team on execution, celebrate wins, and drive results.
  • Lead Guest Advocates, Service Advocates, and Front of Store Attendants in exceeding guest service expectations.
  • Lead execution of onboarding and learning best practices and help close skill gaps through development, coaching, and team interactions.
  • Plan and execute daily and weekly workloads to deliver store sales goals and guest engagement and troubleshoot opportunity areas.
  • Support Target loyalty programs by ensuring the team can educate guests about benefits, features, and offerings.
  • Follow up on training completion, check for understanding, and support continuous education opportunities.
  • Conduct development conversations throughout team members’ career-path touchpoints.
  • Personalize recognition and appreciation of team members to reinforce guest service behaviors and promote a positive team- and guest-centric culture.
  • Help lead accountability through clear expectations and performance management on Service and Engagement behaviors.
  • Respond to guest shopping concerns by de-escalating situations and supporting the team in resolving issues.
  • Ensure team members stay up to date on major promotions, brand launches, and events.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team as directed by the direct leader.
  • Support team members in efficiently and accurately fulfilling pickup and drive-up orders, including drive-up returns and Starbucks, while following adult beverage laws.
  • Support guest services as needed.
  • Lead ethical conduct and compliance practices and hold the team accountable.
  • Lead safety practices by modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, correcting hazards, supporting incident response, and reporting and investigating injuries.
  • Model physical security processes and enhance the in-store security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application.
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes when acting as a key carrier.
  • Occasionally assume store-level Leader on Duty responsibilities during assigned shifts.
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.

  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
