Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an education equivalency for licensing.
  • No experience is required.
  • For Wisconsin work locations, hold Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association and either a compact-state Registered Nurse license or a Wisconsin Registered Nurse license.
  • For applicable work locations, hold Advanced Life Support certification or one of the accepted alternatives: Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Trauma Nursing Core Course, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program Essentials.
  • For Illinois work locations, hold an Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license and the required Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • For Missouri work locations, hold a Missouri Registered Nurse license or a compact-state Registered Nurse license, along with the required Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • For Oklahoma work locations, hold a compact-state Registered Nurse license and an Oklahoma Registered Nurse license, along with the required Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Maintain constant alertness and perform work safely.
  • Meet the stated physical requirements, including standing and walking, lifting and carrying, patient movement, communication, sensory abilities, and occasional driving.
Responsibilities
  • Obtain comprehensive patient data from patients, families, and other healthcare providers to develop a holistic understanding of patient needs and conditions.
  • Analyze and synthesize assessment data to determine diagnoses or conditions relevant to care.
  • Identify optimal patient outcomes in collaboration with the patient, family, and interprofessional team.
  • Develop care plans prescribing strategies and alternatives to attain patient outcomes, using clinical judgment and collaborating with the patient, family, and interprofessional care team.
  • Implement care plans and coordinate implementation with patients, families, and the interprofessional team while promoting and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Evaluate processes and progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, evaluate personal practice, and maintain current knowledge and competence.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with patients, families, and the interprofessional team.
  • Use clinical inquiry and integrate the best available evidence into practice.
  • Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to critical care nursing, ensuring care addresses patient age-specific and clinical needs.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
