Accountant I
Position Overview
This position within theCorporateAccounting department will be responsible for performing accounting dutiessupporting various Shawentities. This position includes managing relationships withdivisionalaccountants or serviceproviders andapplying US GAAP accounting principles to prepare accurate and timely reporting and related analyses.
Prepare journal entries with adequate supporting documentation.
Monitor, maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts between the parent company andsubsidiaries.
Draft reporting packages for thesubsidiaries, or review and approve reporting packages provided by local accountants/3rd party service providers.
Manage month/quarter/year-end process to ensure all is accomplished on a timely basis to meet required deadlines internally and externally.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Document and maintain current processes and procedures.
Participate in business and system projects that impact accountingand financial reporting.
Work with all areas of Finance (Financial Services, Treasury, Corporate Assets and Tax) and outside of Finance (IS group, Customer service, etc.) to support financial operations of thesubsidiaries.
Recognize process improvement opportunities and make recommendations to improve quality, timeliness and accuracy ofintercompanytransactions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Closely related degrees (ex. Finance) can be considered with relevant accounting experience.
Existing understanding and knowledge ofUSGAAP.
Familiarity with consolidationsand intercompany accountingis strongly preferred.
Demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and ability to work with detail.
Follows direction without close supervision.
Position may be filled as an Accountant I or II, depending on experience.

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
