Mechanical Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Apply engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture, or maintenance of mechanical systems. Apply specific functional knowledge, including working and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance. Review, guide, and lead activities for more junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in an engineering design role

• 4+ years of experience leading a technical team to deliver engineering solutions to product requirements

• Experience with component and sub-system design, design for manufacturing, test planning, and test fixture design and assembly

• Experience with creating technical drawings

• Experience with participating and leading projects in a gated design process

• Experience with new product development

• Knowledge of 3D CAD design software, including SolidWorks

• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with Source Controlled Drawings and build to specification hardware

• Experience conducting thermal and mechanical analysis

• Experience conducting or interpreting aerothermal analysis

• Experience managing a technical team

• Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
